it was rather cool day for mid of May, there was fresh snow upper hill and trail was muddy. 14 of us started 915 am but some are too fast some are not fast to catch up.I expected fast group may go up to the ridge and let them go by their speed and stayed in back. fairly beginning on the trail a couple decided to turn around but they are with a driver ahead, so I tried to catch the driver to inform him his occupants' decision. by then I passed 4 of us but I carried on to wait at the rocky trail which is difficult to find trail. waited there for about 30 minutes Then Prairie Mountaineering club people send me message, 3 of them turned back.... so I lost 5 before rocky area. by the time I and the last hiker reached the ridge, faster group came down, not to go further due to cold weather and snow covered slope, I let them go down by themselves since some are group with people who already turn back. we came back to the parking before 2pm. We were the last peple to arrived the parking but the other lady with our car was waiting for hour and half in the parking. I hate to be this situation. I feel I failed the dealing with situation. The lady waiting at the parking was intended to go up but nobody was around so she joined the 2 ladies who decided to go back. I can't blame her, it's not safe to travel by herself. I should have been the trail end. the couple who turned back wanted to be the trail end. But at the time they wanted to turn back, I should have stayed back as a trail end, but I also wanted to reach the driver for this couple. So they don't have to wondering around the parking specially husband does not feeling well. I should have waited with the driver and stayed back... too late.
