Hiking Elbow Valley-Sulphur Springs-Elbow Valley counter clock-wise was a bit of a surprise. Distance was just over 12 kms but cumulative elevation gain was 500 metres, which makes this more of a difficult hike instead of moderate. The hardy and good-natured group completed the hike in 5 hrs 15 minutes including lunch at the viewpoint. There were only a few short patches of ice/snow that could be managed without icers. It was very hot in the morning on the climb up to the viewpoint. Luckily it clouded over after lunch with a bit of a breeze so the temperature was more comfortable, especially on the long hill climbs. Thunder could be heard in the distance but far enough away to not be a concern and no rain. The trails were dry but very rocky and eroded in places. A little TLC trail maintenance would be welcome. Thanks to the group for making it a great day on the trail. Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album?
