Aylmer Junction Hike: Nine happy hikers enjoyed the summer day with perfect temperatures - ten to about 20 C - the occasional breeze and, as forecast, no rain. The big deal was that the distance on our future new hike list is that the elevation gained is quite wrong. 17 km for the length is right, depending on where you park (care with thinking that Parks Canada has that right!), but 456 m is the cumulative elevation calculated by “All Trails”. Bears were seen across the lake, and young mule deer at the camp site at the junction - as well as a beautiful Pearl Crescent butterfly that would not stay away from our salty (or smelly?) leader. And an unusual “mushroom” – ID unknown. We welcomed a couple of guests - one young, and one very young - so three generations - the youngest one being the fittest! Glynn Wright.
