The trail beside Simpson River is cleared, relatively dry and a wonderful early season hike. The views are amazing because you are hiking through recent burn. We were able to hike to the Surprise Creek junction but unable to cross the Simpson because the bridge is out. Rumour has it that it will be replaced this year. Hiking through fields of arnica and many other unidentified wild flowers only added to the hike. Perfect weather and a great group.
