It was a bit cold and windy when we started off at 9:30, but within an hour, we were taking off layers. We say the osprey and its nest, the eagle's nest which appeared to be empty, a couple of very large birds that we inadvertently scared out of a tree - we think possibly owls - and a deer. Total distance was 10.9 km with a total elevation gain of 180 m. Thank-you to the stewart (Alice Fedesoff) at the visitor's centre for directing us to the osprey nest and to one of the hikers on the trip, Susan, who located the eagle's nest.
