Write Up:
The Field weather forecast was optimistic compared to the conditions 12 hours later at the Iceline Trail: we had temps varying from 3 to 5 C for most of the trip. Cloudy but still enjoyable (meanwhile Calgary had a sunnier, warmer day). GPS calculated trip length as 22 km, cumulative elevation as 1058 m. Plenty of photo ops for plant lovers (don’t mention the Fairy, Pat). The leader under-estimated the time for the event: we started at 10:00am, walked clockwise around the Iceline trail to the viewpoint and Stanley Mitchell Hut, returning via Laughing Falls and the Yoho Valley Trail to Takakkaw Falls parking lot by about 6:30pm. Driving time one way was about 2.25 hours. Glynn.
