I think it is safe to say that a fantastic day was had by all. We walked the 1.4 km up the road to the trail which was suprisingly dry in some places and yet with snow patches in others. No need for snowshoes or micro-spikes. Windy Point Ridge beckoned and we hiked up the south, grassy, steep slope to the summit and enjoyed lunch with panoramic views to the north and northwest. The mountains are still covered in snow which made them much more spetacular. In all, elevation gain was about 600m and the distance 13km. Heads up, the ticks are out.
