After some trail finding, we found the correct route to Porcupine Ridge. It was crisp in the morning and we were glad we had brought warm clothing. There was a skiff of snow that made climbing up and down steep grades a bit dicey, but we did not have to use our icers---would not have helped on some of the rocky surfaces anyway. We made it to the first major lookout and had a fabulous view of Wasootch Ridge, Wasootch Peak and the Valleys below. There was some excitement when one of the hikers lost a pole in the rushing Porcupine Creek. The pole was rescued. We also decided to park in the Wasootch parking lot and hike the 2.4 km trail through the woods to Porcupine. That too was quite lovely.
