Our group of six arrived at the trail head with full intentions of getting to the very top of Wasootch ridge on this fine day! We started our climb and reached the ridge and we could see the Nakiska ski runs to the south west. The hike takes you into the trees and then out. There were beautiful views down both sides. We were able to walk several kilometers and then the wind came up We were not attacked by a bear, moose nor an alligator BUT THE WIND! The swirl of wind caught us off guard and we felt blown off our feet and we were. And it was cold-- North face jackets and hats and miss. We had to hug the trail to stay on the ridge. We moved on and then up past the grassy patch we hid behind some huge rocks and decided this was not the day to summit. The wind was over powering and we made the wise choice to turn back. The day was sunny and warm at times and then the wind ( ice cold). We will return. (Loretta) Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album?
