Write Up:
What a beautiful day we had on April 27! Five of us used icers to hike up Whiskey Jack to the Kananaskis Fire Lookout. We carried snowshoes but never had to use them because the snow was hard packed. It was absolutely wonderful at the Lookout where we had lunch. After lunch we decided to change our plans so that, instead of returning via Whiskey Jack, we headed down the south trail from the lookout to Hydroline, and then down Hydroline to meet up with the Elk Pass trail. We returned to the Boulton campground parking area via Fox Creek and Moraine trials still using icers all the way. Although we did not see another person the whole day, there were black bear tracks on Whiskey Jack.
